Designed by healthcare professionals IBIS contains four modules: Therapeutics, Materia Medica, Notes, Patients and Visits. IBIS offers you a broad spectrum of therapeutic options in a quick and comprehensive format.

In the sixteenth century, the great physician Paracelsus exhorted doctors to learn from all healing disciplines. IBIS helps health practitioners do just that. Medical doctors, naturopathic physicians, acupuncturists, chiropractors, nutritionists, midwives, herbalists, homeopaths, nurse practitioners, psychologists, and other healthcare providers can get quick access to clinical information from the major healing traditions.

IBIS is the creation of integrative medicine in the most real sense of the phrase
IBIS was originally produced by a group of over 100 healthcare professionals and educators to investigate natural medicine and provide education about the integrated use of a wide range of therapeutic methods. In creating IBIS and all its activities, we have emphasized revitalizing understanding of the unity of physical and subtle aspects of medicine, as practiced by Hippocrates, Hua To, Avicenna, Paracelsus and other physicians of the classical and folk traditions. IBIS is published and distributed by Integrative Medical Arts Group, Inc. All members of the health care community are invited to participate in the evolution of IBIS by contributing research, tools, graphics, articles and goodwill.

IBIS is an ongoing process
Teams of healthcare professionals produced the initial version of IBIS over the course of four years, beginning in1988. Since the initial release in 1992, content upgrades have been added to IBIS as new research has emerged and as the community of IBIS users and contributors has expanded. IBIS is not the work of a handful of experts but rather is the expression of teams of clinicians and researchers from each field coming together to express the best that their therapeutic spoecialties have to offer in a spirit of education, critical review and dialogue. IBIS users are able to contribute to future content updates and offer suggestions for future technical (programming) upgrades.

IBIS grows with you
IBIS is designed to grow with your knowledge and experience. You can add comments directly to any item for instant reference. You can create an independent Note when you learn about a new therapy, medicine or techique from your colleagues, a journal or a seminar. Using hyper-text linking, you now have the ability to connect any two items that you will want to jump between. With time, IBIS will come to reflect and serve your way of thinking, your insights, and your web of experience.

IBIS communicates
Printing and export functions allow you to prepare patient handouts and special reports. The IBIS forums allow you to communicate with other IBIS owners around the world.

IBIS is a research tool
The IBIS Patients and Visits module enables you to evaluate your own clinical outcomes. You can analyze outcomes for your patient population for specific conditions, treatments used, patient demographic data, or your own keywords.
